Love the analogy with the shoe!!!! It’s so true about fitting in! Conformity! Yuck! People (even my own family) have said about me… “She beats to her own drum!”.
I find that comment to be negative and a way to keep me in a “box”. I respond yup… and I will continue to do so! You stay or you go…. Up to you.
It took years to build that confidence and many rebuilds to keep it.
My song is… “I get knocked down but I get up again – Nothing gonna keep me down!”
