An article I read recently got me thinking about the concept of legacy. The author discussed an exercise he did with students in his leadership class. “Once we have their picture in our heads, we go one step deeper. What are they feeling as they do it? In what moment are they saying it? Do they know you, or do they only know of you? Does your name carry an emotional spark, or has it turned into a fact of genealogy or history, lifeless and still?”
And someday, most of us will also be faceless names in someone’s family tree.There are exceptions to this rule, of course. If you were famous, you would beremembered far longer than if you were not. And famous people get written about, so even after their stars have dimmed, you can find out more about them through books or the internet….
