    Enjoying retirement after 29 years in Pharmaceutical Sales, Marty and wife Joanne reside in Fredericton along with their two daughters, a son and five
    grandchildren.

    Sports and fitness has always been a big part of Marty’s life from his time
    growing up in McAdam and continuing throughout his adult life.

    Marty had two CFL tryouts; one in 1982 with the Montreal Alouettes and one in 1984 with the Calgary Stampeders where he played in 2 preseason
    games and narrowly missed making the final roster. Never having played
    football before, Marty decided at the age of 25 he would give it a try.
    Fourteen months later he signed a contract with the Alouettes.

    In 1986 Marty won the New Brunswick Bodybuilding Championship winning both the Heavyweight Division and the Overall Champion. In 1987 he won the Heavyweight Division at the Atlantic Championships. He is proud of the fact that he never used performance enhancing drugs yet was successful in this sport.

    Marty is a cancer survivor, having been diagnosed in Dec. 1990 with Non
    Hodgkins Lymphoma. Fortunately after 6 months of treatment he was
    cancer free.

    Weight training has been a lifestyle activity for Marty for the past 48 years.
    He also has extensive experience in personal weight training programs.
    In his spare time he enjoys travel, the gym, riding his Harley or striving to
    be at least “almost good” at his latest endeavour, the sport of golf.
