It’s good to keep our brains active so yesterday I tried to recall all the common expressions and idioms about lips I could remember. Before you read any further, how many can you come up with?  No peeking!

I confess, I had to ask Google for help to complete the list. Did we forget any?

My lips are sealed. I promise I will keep your secret and not say a word.

And then there’s the tight-lipped secretive one who’s unwilling to share information.

Never forget that loose lips sink ships. All that careless talk can cause serious harm or reveal secrets.

Button or zip your lip! Ever heard that? You better stop talking or else!

Read my lips!!! Listen up because I mean what I say!

You’ll get in trouble if you’re rude, disrespectful or impudent so don’t give me any lip!

What will she come up with next is the topic that’s on everyone’s lips.

Keep a stiff upper lip. Whatever you do, don’t show any emotions.

My dog Macy loves her food! She’s already smacking/licking her lips in anticipation of the next meal. I might be too!

And last but certainly not least, there’s a lot of lip service these days. You know what I mean? Saying you support something without taking any real action.

It’s time to put our money where our mouth is. There’s lots of ways to make a difference.

We all have a role to play. What’s yours?

How many did you remember?

  • Losing my father to suicide at a young age shaped me in ways I didn’t fully understand at the time. It planted early questions about mental health, support, and what it really means to survive. Years later, a severe burnout forced those questions back to the surface—this time with no room to ignore them. Everything slowed down. What I had built no longer fit.

That breaking point became a reckoning. I realized that sometimes you have to burn down everything you thought you knew in order to make space for a life that is more meaningful and more authentic. So many of us spend our lives chasing the dream—an impossible version of happiness defined by productivity, success, and external approval—only to find ourselves exhausted and disconnected.

Peace and happiness don’t live there. They aren’t found by pushing harder or becoming more. They’re found by turning inward, listening honestly, and letting go of what no longer serves us. This blog grew out of that unlearning and rebuilding—a space for reflection, recovery, and reimagining a life that doesn’t require self-erasure to sustain it.

If you’ve ever felt lost in any of life’s challenges, you’re not alone. Let’s figure this out together.
