Editor’s Note: Jody Robinson and I grew up in the Village of McAdam. It was here that we developed small town values such as the importance of looking out for one other and giving back when we can. Jody certainly exemplified that during his time teaching and now into retirement. It’s true… it does take a village!

I taught for 34 years primarily at McAdam High. I did a couple of long term supplies when I started out, one at McAdam Elementary and the other at Harvey High. I’ve been involved in sports my whole life so when I started teaching it was a natural transition to also coach. Dad was my hockey and baseball coach growing up but once I got into high school, sports like basketball and soccer kind of took over. Hockey was always my number one though; I loved going to our outdoor rink and then travelling around the province playing other communities. Hockey and soccer were the two sports I had the most success at. I coached just about everything at MHS. Soccer and basketball were the big ones but also volleyball and badminton.
